Baby Hunter – Autumn Session – Wollongong Portrait Photography

I recently shot Rachel & Daniel’s wedding back in February on Valentines day (oh the depressing weather on valentines day weekend made my heart sink to the bottom of my thoracic cavity). But none-the-less Daniel and Rachel still went ahead with their Flagstaff Hill & City Beach wedding.. It was a glorious day to celebrate their love and devotion to each other.

Now onto Baby Hunter.. Rachel’s Nephew. Bub’s are cute, precious and so pur.. what is there more to say? They are the world’s miracles and happen every single day! I enjoyed shooting hunter in the colours Autumn had to offer a month ago and found myself cracking so many smiles.

Now this first one here, I posted up on both my personal and business FaceBook (see contact page for the link to my Ela Photography Group .. It’s worth joining hehe).. I put the caption for this left image below ‘My favourite!’ Within the first 5 minutes of the images being public my dear friend Ellie commented saying ‘how can this one be your favourite? you’re so mean! the baby is crying!’ lol

I explained to her ‘my darling Ellie that is what photography is all about.. It’s ‘warts and all!’ meaning the most conventional photos aren’t always going to be the winning shots. It’s those priceless moments with expression, emotion and a connection that make the best shots’ ..I smiled to myself.

Couldn’t pick between these two below so I just had to show you both!

Ok now the most memorable thing about this shot (below, right) is the moment just after this shot.. Hunter was intrigued by the sound of the trees so I thought it looked really enchanting having hunter surrounded by the yellows, greens and oranges up high.

Jodie (Rachel’s sister) was holding hunter up and Rachel was dangling a leaf in front of the camera (yep that’s that blurred figure in the bottom of the frame lol). So all three of us were all in it together to get Hunter to smile, laugh and just be a baby.. all of a sudden Jodie moved him lower, ever so slightly, allowing a branch to poke his little cheek. The tears were painful to watch but the little one put on a brave face for the next 20 minutes of photos until it was nap time.. again. lol Just thinking how easy my life would be if I were 12 months old again? hmm..

Every shoot there’s always a sweet ‘Grandma’ shot so her goes! weeee! ..with that smile, he’s gunna be a heart breaker that one! haha

The end :)

Germany and England play tonight.. so while I am dreaming about cameras and destination weddings, there will be a lot of noise downstairs coming from the lounge room so if I don’t blog tomorrow it’s because I have giant eye bags from being kept up by this sacred World Cup. lol

See you all at the next post! Your Wollongong Portrait Photographer, Ela! x
