Port Kembla Wedding Photos – Professional Photography

Shot in the deserted back roads of Port Kembla where I had my very first shoot here a year ago.. The place was still rustic, old and beaten down.. just the way I like it!

Tash looked like a mermaid in this dress.. going for the beach themed wedding she definately pulled it off! She said to me .. My dress was everything I didn’t want, or was looking for, in a dress LOL. At first I thought she was kidding, but as laid back as Tash was, she didn’t seem to mind. Tash you confuse me sometimes, but I admire you for your funny sense of character lol.

Can’t wait until I get to show you the rest of your images, your slideshow is in production as we speak.. or as I type.

Capturing the moment – Wollongong Wedding Photos

Brad and his youngest daughter were strolling along the pathway on the way to our location photos.. I noticed the small things were of great importance to her. Like simply daddy holding her hand for security. Alyssa was singing to herself when she found jumping every few beats were of great entertainment to her. I could have watched her all day, I’ve seen many cute ones before but she was definately up there! ..After creaping behind her waiting for the right moment ‘CLICK!’ ..Kodak moment for ya! Or in this case a Canon moment. They say it’s the appearance of the eyes that make an image so powerful. Still coming back to this photo for the 10th times, I know that this statement is not always correct. No eyes to be seen and still I find this to be one of my favourite photos of the day.

Tash & Brad – Wedding Photography – City Beach Function Centre

For this wedding on the Sunday, I really have to admit I was very sad early morning. I woke up to find the rain pitter pattering ever so slightly outside my window. But in my book a little rain can make things ever so difficult on the photography side of things.

I’d met up with Tash and Brad a few times before their wedding day and I have to say I really enjoyed chatting and getting to know the two. With 3 beautiful children already, they just had to seal the deal by tying the knot (that way now they’re definately stuck with eachother for life :) lol Ok totally kidding)

I do have to say Tash, snaps to you for being the most laid back bride I have ever met! lol ..I had never attended or photographed a wedding that once ran on time. Well guys there’s a first for everything!

With the ceremony taking place on the beautiful sands of south beach, a little sand in my shoes was a small price to pay to getting them great shots. I chuckled a few times during the ceremony though, Brad thought it would be necessary to mumble the word ’sweet’ after Tash said the words I do. I got a shot of the clenched fists anf everything whilst he said it but we best leave that in the bloopers section of the wedding album hehe.

Guys I can not tell you enough how much I enjoyed getting to know you and capturing all your precious wedding day memories. I really hope to stay in touch in the future.

Wedding Photography – Thea & Luke – Edgy Theme

Classic shot and always a winner. I believe this was shot at f/3.2 no flash, just using the awesome natural light of the hotel! Split toned and a little contrast was added but not a great deal of photoshop involved which is always a plus. The minute I saw Thea in her dress I was speechless, Luke was pretty schmick as well

Overall, the day was in plain words.. awesome! We finished up with a few Samoan dance numbers ending the night with a bang! ..Although the stomping and yells frightened the flowers girl a little bit every one enjoyed it! It’s amazing how you can turn piles of hay into a skirt and get a great flick without it all falling apart.

Thea & Luke – Wedding Day – Mantra Hotel – Sydney Wedding Photography

Thea looked absolutely breathtaking walking the streets of the city in Parramatta. Her fascinator was one of a kind and the dress was like something you had pulled out of a magazine.
Definately a very characteristic couple, the bridal party & their personalities made it so enjoyable for me!
With two ours to get creative with the location photos, we stopped by the mantra hotel and found the most interesting textures and architecture. The rooms were illuminated by the sky high window panels lining the entire room! As a photographer.. I was in heaven! more light than you could imagine.

The reception was so funny as well. Thea and Luke started their bridal waltz to the ‘Unchained Melody’ track when all of a sudden 3 minutes later, the record scratches and a song from the latest Chris Brown blasts out of the speakers! LOL
Thea and Luke then broke it down on the dance floor, crumping, hip-hopping, ’slamming the jam’ what ever you like to call it. But it was by far the funniest bridal waltz I had ever seen! Thea and Luke you guys are amazing! So fun and out going, I am glad I had the opportunity!

Illawarra Wedding Photography – Botanical Gardens – Kawasaki Bridge

Mixed up Tabatha & Tate’s location portraits a little bit using a range of different lighting styles.

I shot the entire ceremony in natural light with the awesome gazebo blocking out every opportunity for ‘panda eyes’ to occur. We then took a stroll around the gardens to stop at the Kawasaki bridge, which is always a favourite. In this shot I used natural backlight and crouched (yes we all know it’s my favourite angle and I use it all the time) to acheive the lens flare. For some reason this shot is my favourite of the entire wedding album, keep getting drawn back to it.
But then again any image with lens flare gets me no matter what

Botanical Gardens – Rose Gardens – Illawarra Weddings

I have to admit I was a little worried about the weather last weekend. After shooting 3 very wet weddings on Valentines day weekend, I thought please let the rains clear up.
Thankfully enough I don’t think I could have gotten a bluer sky! I was smiling all day!
The ceremony took place in the Rose Gardens of Wollongong Botanical Gardens. It’s one of the most, if not the most, popular wedding spots in the entire Illawarra.. I can see why!

When Tabatha walked down that brick road ..her father acted like his character-self and made funny hand gestures, noises and faces LOL I just had to giggle lol
I think it’s a great thing when people can just let their hair out on a wedding day and not take things too seriously.. after all it’s meant to be a happy day

Anyway it kills me to have to limit the images I upload to my site from each wedding to the risk of boring my viewers.. So I have once again taken the liberty of uploading the rest of the highlights to my facebook fan page.
Now if you’re one of the very few people who have a proper social life and don’t have facebook, thankfully enough I have made my profile public so you don’t actually have to join my group to view the rest of the images.

Tate & Tabatha – Wedding Day – Botanical Gardens & City Beach Function Centre

I arrived at Tabatha’s hotel to find her discovering what wedding-day stress was all about.. She said ‘I never knew weddings could be so stressful!’ ..I secretly giggled to myself and all I could think about was how gorgeous she looked. Finally arriving at the Rose Gardens in Wollongong’s Botanical gardens, Tate took her hand in marriage. All the way through the ceremony she gazed into Tate’s eyes & giggled on the occasion.
Towards the end of the night, it got to the stage where I was having such a blast, that I honestly forgot I was working LOL.

The bride and groom ended the evening with a romantic 20 minute stroll through town back to their hotel.. what champions! lol

Rachel – Wollongong Wedding Photography – Valentines Day

Rachel was such a stunning bride. It was a pleasure capturing Daniel and her on their valentines day wedding. The minute I met them I got such a great vibe from them. They were down to earth & enjoyable to have met.

Although it rained during the ceremony on Flagstaff Hill in Wollongong I saw them just look into eachother’s eyes and grinning to eachother thinking ‘Lol it had to rain on our wedding day, but nothing could ever ruin this perfect day.. for you, are everything I need’. Ok that was my guess at what they were thinking but there could have been a chance that Daniel was thinking about food? lol

Either way, the day was quite interesting. With the rain turning on and off whenever it pleased Rachel’s sister Jodi said to Rachel ‘Did you want to move the ceremony into the City Beach Building just in case it rains?’ ..Do you know what Rachel said? ‘What ever Daniel says is fine with me, I want what he wants.’ I just smiled to myself, girl you’re a bride in a million. You see Rachel didn’t care about the fact that her deadly expensive dress would get ruined in the rain. I quote ‘you’re only going to wear it once’ and what better way to wear it than to trash it in the rain, the lighthourse behind you, holding hands with the one you love?

Rachel & Daniel are on their honey moon now and I wish them all the best for the future and I’ll see you when you get back!

Gerringong Wedding Photography – Bella Chara Boutique Hotel

The groom taking his last breaths before being a married man. Nervous but anxious as he was, Jason pulled it together in the last few minutes.. right before he burst into tears during the ceremony hehe

I was stoked at the lighting conditions of where the ceremony took place. Unfortunately as it rained on this one fine Saturday before Valentines day, the grounds of Bella Chara were too wet as they had hoped to get married before the rock wall.

Thankfully enough, the lovely staff at Bella Chara were more than hospitable and set up a gorgeous ceremony seating plan inside. The were more windows than walls which was awesome! All the light in the world was handed to me on a platter hehe. Plus the square windowed doors were a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony shots.

Overall the day was fairly muggy, but we had fun scouting out the grounds of Bella Chara.
