Couple Shoot – Jess & Tyson – Wollongong CBD

A month ago we headed out into Wollongong’s CBD.. I attend BNI Networking every Thursday morning at 7, everytime I make my way home I purposely drive down Market St for inspiration. I LOVE shooting in rustic unique locations. I love the beach,the gardens and Wollongong lighthouse.. although there’s something new and fresh that our CBD has to offer. I can not wait to shoot some future weddings here. For brides to step out of their comfort zone and try something new makes me smile :) Jess and Tyson were fun, vibrant and totally played the part. I love this shot, simply because it’s so them! Tyson, although he plays footy and likes to upkeep his reputation of masculinity, is so gentle towards Jess. And Jess herself.. well, she’s like a human Starburst. Bright, sweet and could have a dose of her anytime of day. She rocks.

These two were amazing on their eSession, they weren’t whingy or fussy, they were open to sitting in potentially snake infested grasses and trekking knee deep in a quick rising tide. lol. They are two very fabulous people, with big hearts. After discussing their plans for the wedding day on the first meeting, it turns out I knew a few of her Bridesmaids.. I knew that if they were going to book with me this would be one amazing wedding! So they decided to adopt me for the day to capture their wedding day as it unfolded. No Limit Pictures‘, Daniel Cartwright will also be documenting their day so let’s hope the weather is Schweet!

eSession – Keren & Ben – Kiama Wedding Photography

Keren & Ben’s eSession last Friday with their beautiful 2 year old labrador, Loti. With Loti stealing a ball from another dog owner, 22 attempts to get Loti to sit for one shot and the shoot ending in rain I’d say we did pretty well.

Newborn – Baby JR – Wollongong Newborn photographer

Snuck in a couple of newborn shots of Baby Jamie once Mummy & Daddy safely arrived hom from the hospital on Wednesday. They had nothing but great things to say about baby jamie.. he was as quiet as a mouse, except for feeding time ofcourse. Ash popped him up on the change table before feeding time & we snuck in a few feet shots as he was slipping out of his romper. I recently upgraded my 50mm lens to the 1.2L and I love it!. Although you could miss the tip of an eyelash when you’re shooting at 1.2 I still love having the best glass of it’s kind. I’m surgically attached to it now. Having shot with my 24-70 mm lens all the time before hand I now leave that lens for the reception group shots and wide shots on location. But just a wrap for how yumminess my new 50mm is and 3 big cheers for Canon ..Smiles*

Pre-wedding Shoot – Kiama – Wedding Photography

I love the backlight of this shot, Bec looks so beautiful with the rim of sun on her hair. Mark Nolan once said to me, the best shot you will ever take, hasn’t been taken yet. It seems as though I keep finding myself in this state of mind where I am so proud of a photo, then to find I shoot again and create a new favourite image! The winter has been a little dull lately, but the weather on Saturday was good to us! The morning wind howled before te 1pm clouds came out to play.

The only reason we stopped shooting was the sun disappearing over the horizon lol. Had a ball photographing Chris & Bec.

eSession – Kiama Blowhole – Illawarra Wedding Photographer

Without further delay let me introduce you to an engaged couple who are getting married in November.

Chris & Bec kept me smiling throughout our entire pre-wedding shoot. It was the first time I had met Chris and they both made my Saturday afternoon fabulouso! (yes, that is a word. I think?)

I love this shot because of the tint of the leaves. Yes a little bit of tweaking was necessary to get this effect as opposed to the standard green but I like it! It was all a matter of one slider in Lightroom3 (can’t live without LR3, fellow togs you’re missing out if you don’t have this). Took the green channel down then tweaked the yellow one and vaula! Love the depth & their interaction.

eSession – Chris & Bec – Kiama Portrait Photographer

Chris & Bec have booked their wedding for November this year and I can not wait! We headed down to Bec’s home town of Kiama and shot at the lovely Little Kiama Blowhole reserve. So many beautiful textures, unique spurts of colour and every shade of green you can think of! How much fun I had shooting these two. In all my shoots I love to show the formal and candid variation of a frame just to give a feel of told story. I love the texture of the tree behind them, shot this at f/1.8 on my 50mm and it makes me smile :)

Laelia & Tahlia – Mt Warrigal Family Portrait Session – Wollongong Portrait Photographer

Went to Mt Warrigal Jetty yesterday afternoon to take advantage of the afternoon back light. Anthony & Lauren and their two girls Laelia & Tahlia put on a good show for my camera and although Tahlia ended up like Rudolf at the end of the shoot from the cold, I think it was worth it..

This shot is my favourite from the entire shoot. I posted the highlights up on FaceBook last night and it had the most positive feedback from fans. A great sports photographer once said to me ‘as long as you see the eyes, then it’s a shot worth keeping’. You and I both know rules are meant to be broken, and in most cases the eyes do make the shot. The smile on Laelia’s face in this shot whilst she is laughing is priceless. You know that big chuckle from sugar-driven/hyperactive kids you hear when they’re picking on the Birthday Clown with their kindergarten friends? well that was the sound of her laugh in this moment lol. I had an absolute blast photographing this family.

Baby Hunter – Autumn Shoot – Wollongong Portrait Photographer

Baby Hunter and his killer smile rocked my world a month ago when I visited a past bride of mine, Rachel, in Bligh Park.

I shot Daniel and Rachel’s Wedding on Valentines day this year and although the rain got the best of the day and very limited photo opportunities were available, the bridal party rocked out the reception and had a ball on the night.

I photographed her nephew, Hunter and it was just a joy! :)
