HDR Image – Warrawong Jetty – Lake Illawarra Photograper

Taken in the hottest hours of the day with my tripod and captured at 6 different exposures, all 1 stop apart. I then merged them together and created a 6 frame HDR image I was quite happy with 🙂 the clouds needed a little dodging and burning but it was already a great image.

I grew up near warrawong jetty and it meant a lot to me to sit down on the pier and listen to the sound of the water lapping the posts of the rickety jetty. I remember I once came here when I was about 13 and my brother and I had decided to go for a brother-sister bike ride. Before we left my bike pedal had been playing up and was letting off an awful squeaky noise. My brother thought he was doing the right thing by spraying a gallon of WD40 spray on my pedal before we left.

Back to the jetty.. I was happily riding along the pathway when the next thing I know I found myself toppling over my handlebars, my peddle flown 5 meters ahead of the scene and my brother stopped in the distance giggling at the fact that I was there lying on the concrete path it so much pain!

It turns out my brother wasn’t educated enough to know that the only thing holding my squeaky pedal onto my bike was the rust he ever so innocently lubricated with the WD40.. hence the falling off my bike.

I looked down at my leg after slowing managing to pull myself to my feet, to see a great big cut on my leg about 2 inches wide. There was a great deal of ‘tomato sauce’ gushing down my leg.  Today I look down at my scar and remember the love my brother and I shared and the times we spent together being kids. Sometimes I don’t blame Peter Pan for wanting to stay a kid.. it’s the only time you get to play all day long, grazing knees and climbing trees without a care in the world!

Now that I have bored you telling you about my life story, maybe my fashion album might enlighten you. I’ll be shortly posting some new ones up there so keep your eyes peeled!

Back to reality in the life of a Wollongong Photographer! Bye for now!
