Lyra & Lowell’s wedding was on the 28th August 2010. I was counting down the day to this wedding as I was looking forward to the view the beautiful Panorama House had to offer. I had never met the couple before this wedding, but after chatting with Lyra on the phone a few weeks before the wedding.. we discovered we both had philippino heritage. I don’t speak tagalog (their language) but sometimes I could understand words here and there. It makes me want to take lessons now.. Imagine, being able to speak in amother language where none of your friends comprehending what you say ..hmm could use a good tool to insult big brothers and they can’t hear you. lol. But back to the wedding day, it was a fabulous occasion, all the guests were lovely & were more than happy to have fun infront of my camera. But the biggest highlight was meeting a new videographer on the day. Miles from Milestone Videography, Melbourne was a joy to work with. Although I’ve only worked with a few videographers, so was used to always hogging the good vantage points. LOL It was a little more challenging comprimising space but we did it hehe. Overall the day was unforgettable, the ongoing performances at the reception by random guests, the ‘Yes Love’ speech from the best man, which never gets old and the Michael Jackson tribute during the post wedding dance partying! Good times.
I loved this painting as soon as I walked in the lobby. The Novatel is forever changing their paintings and I thought this one was very bold, sharp and edgy.
Love this shot. Colour isolation is a little thing of the past but it can’t hurt once in a while.
“Not yet Lowell” says Lyra. As the service started Lowell walked over to her to grab here hand. Surprisingly Lyra refused lol. They were waiting for the formal introduction of ‘who gives this woman to this man?’ Classic. He did it twice.
Stalking the guests during the ceremony. Glad I did :p
Lastly, the breath taking view at panorama house. The air was crisp.. too crisp if you ask me :\
..Waiting for the Bridal party to enter the reception, I took the opportunity to scout out the little faces in the crowd. Then I saw this little princess standing near the dance floor. My first thought was *sigh. Second thought was ‘That looked like me when I was little!’ ..funny that. But I love the shot. The 5D is my newest invention and I was so stoked to not have to use much flash suring the reception. Love the lighting in this shot. Panorama house had some lovely overhead lights above the dance floor that gave it a beautiful purple colour cast.
and I’m absolutely loving my new 50mm 1.2L lens. I carry it everywhere I go now LOL.
Thanks so much for having me guys!
Your wedding photographer, Ela!
